Brad Butterfield, PhD

I have more than 20 years experience as a scientist, conducting research in deserts, alpine and riparian ecosystems, and everything in between. I am fascinated with the processes that generate and maintain biodiversity. Through my experiences I have picked up a wide range of analytical techniques and perspectives that are complementary to many basic and applied problems in ecology and beyond.

I am passionate about wild things and wild places. Nature is where I hunt, fish, explore and spend time with my family and friends. My goal as a scientist is to help preserve the incredible biodiversity of our planet for generations to come.
